We're an organization providing programs to develop the next generation of multicultural leaders. We concentrate on the intersection of: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Sports, Multicultural Youth and Leadership.
Thanks to everyone who came out last Saturday! We're happy to see the kids enjoying themselves and truly learning from our speakers.
We have established partnerships with the Golden State Warriors Basketball franchise, University of California Berkeley's Cal Bear Athletics Department, Alameda Recreation and Parks Department, Alameda Unified School District and Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School. We also partner with prominent community organizations who service multicultural youth including Girls, Inc. of the Island City, Alameda Police Department, Oakland Housing Authority, Alameda Health Services and many others. We are adding leading corporate sponsors and additional organizations on a daily basis.
We offer programs that address the intersection of STEM, Sports, Multicultural Youth and Leadership. We're starting with a focus on Basketball programs but plan to expand to other sports in 2015 including football, soccer, baseball, swimming, etc. Beginning in the Fall 2014 we are adding STEM academic curriculum, STEM and Technology Team Challenges, Robotics Challenges, Computer Programming and small team formations. Our course offerings will include field trips to local professional sports teams and STEM locations to learn how Sports and STEM work hand in hand to create future leaders.
Our attendees will be participating in skills clinics, visits to professional sports venues, attending team challenges and participating in multi-media and entertainment events. We will be teaching our youth the skills to create their own digital media videos, music and creative writing projects. We will be using all types of social media and guiding our youth to develop responsible strategies for managing their media and screen time in front of electronic devices and social media usage.
